Why do I need to be interviewed for a Level 2 Certificate Skills course?

Think of it as a two-way conversation, not an audition. You’re finding out if we’re the right fit for you, just as much as we’re finding out about you.

Counselling training is unlike most courses. From day one, you’ll be exploring your own experiences alongside others in the group, so we want to make sure you feel genuinely ready — and that we can support you properly from the start.

We’ll talk about what’s drawn you to counselling, what you’re hoping to get from the training, and what’s happening in your life right now. There are no right or wrong answers.

What we’re not doing is testing you or looking for perfection. Nobody arrives at Level 2 as a finished counsellor — that’s the whole point of training.

What we are doing is making sure the course is right for you at this point in your life, and that the group we build can work together safely and supportively.

Most people leave the interview feeling reassured rather than assessed. That’s exactly how it should be.
